Billing
What happens when I hit the free limits?
You can keep using the other practice modes and managing your existing data. New saved words, custom collections, and AI-game prompts stop at the free limits until you upgrade.
What's the difference between the paid tiers?
Basic lifts the saved-word and collection caps. Standard adds 5,000 AI prompts per month. Premium adds everything in Standard plus your choice of AI model.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel through the Stripe Billing Portal from Account Settings.
What happens to my data if I downgrade?
Your existing data stays in your account. If your account is over a free limit after downgrade, new over-limit creation is blocked until you upgrade again.
How is billing handled?
Stripe handles checkout, payment processing, subscription management, and cancellation. Vocab Monster does not store full card numbers or CVCs.

What is Vocab Monster?
Vocab Monster is a vocabulary learning app for searching definitions, saving words, organizing them into collections, and practicing them through multiple study modes with progress tracking.
What if I don't want AI?
You can still use Vocab Monster without AI. Standard study modes like quizzes, flashcards, and other non-AI practice flows are still available without using AI-generated prompts.
What are collections?
Collections are groups of words you can use to organize your vocabulary and launch focused practice sessions. Vocab Monster includes default collections and lets you create your own custom collections.
What practice modes are available?
Vocab Monster includes 11 practice modes across quizzes, flashcards, fill-in-the-blank, memory match, context, synonym, antonym, and timed quick-play challenges.
What AI models are available?
We currently offer models from OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI, Kimi, and we are always adding more.
